Dramatic ExperienceGordon** is a kindly older gentleman and a tenured employee at a liberal, local nonprofit organization. Pam**, the technical support and Gordon's subordinate, barged into his office to remind him about the conference room seminar. "I'm not going to be able to go," Gordon explained, "I have an important call with executives from our East Coast office, but thank you for the reminder!" Suddenly the entire office filled with Pam's voice as she yelled, "Gordon! You'd better get your white ass in the conference room in 5 minutes or I'll kick it there for you my damned self !" The seminar topic that got Pam so fired up? Racial sensitivity training.

Wow--I sure am glad that Pam is not in charge of my IT department. It sounds like she was more likely to provide technical hindrance than technical assistance!

anonymous: Yeah, Pam was not great at giving assistance (or subtle hints!).

How can one continue as anonymous when others appropriate the appellation?
How can Gordon sustain Pam as a subordinate when she is insubordinate?
What asinine color is Pam's admittedly "damned self"?
So many questions. And so little time in life for racially sensitive kicks.

previously anonymous: So sorry someone took your monniker--perhaps now you've staked a claim on this new one! Pam's insubordinate behavior definitely doesn't suit a subordinate. Pam's admittedly "damned self" is African American. Thanks for inquiring!
